Macro: Bugs and Stuff

Yes, some of these are "creepy", but that's the fun of it!
Reddish-brown Stag Beetle is a relatively large beetle with this specimen coming in with a body length of 1 1/2". Aunt Deb found it dead on the ground in the picnic area during our 2023 family get-together at Hok-Si-La Park in Lake City. 

It occurs in the United States east of the Great Plains and in adjacent Canadian provinces. It is found around decaying logs and stumps in deciduous forests, parks, and neighborhoods with trees. For more info.
